Aerodynamic Jump

A phenomena known as aerodynamic jump causes a vertical deflection of the bullet in a crosswind. The deflection occurs near the muzzle depending on the gyroscopic stability of the bullet, velocity of the crosswind, barrel twist rate and twist direction. The bullet can be deflected either up or down. See Wikiedia for more information. Aerodynamic Jump is calculated only when Spin Drift is On as the information needed to calculate spin drift and aerodynamic jump are the same.

The graph shows the aerodynamic jump relative to no wind in Trace 1, a wind from the left in Trace 2, and a wind from the right in Trace 3. For a barrel with a left twist trace 2 and 3 would be reversed.
