Program Terminology
Trace: A group of parameters (data) that fully determine the external ballistics of a given load. These prameters are displayed and edited in a Trace window. Ballistic Explorer works with up to three traces at a time, with each in it's own window.
Trace Parameters: Trace parameters are the information you enter into a trace window. Some examples of trace parameters are muzzle velocity, altitude, wind speed, wind direction, and the name you give the trace.
Trace Data: The program uses the trace parameters to calculate nine categories of data. We use the term trace data to refer to this calculated data. Some examples of trace data are the bullet's drop, time of flight, path, and energy. Windows® itself has a number of standard terms that are used throughout this help file.
